OpenAI、新モデルGPT-5.5をリリース ―エージェントコーディング、コンピュータユース、知的作業、科学研究向けの性能を大幅に強化

OpenAIは2026年4月23日、同社のフロンティアモデルの新バージョンGPT-5.5をリリースした。

GPT-5.5は、ユーザーが何をしようとしているのかをより迅速に理解し、作業の大部分を自律的に実行できる。コーディングとデバッグ、オンラインリサーチ、データ分析、文書やスプレッドシートの作成、Webブラウザなどのソフトウェア操作、ツール間を移動しながらのタスク実行に優れた能力を発揮する。

とくに速度を犠牲にすることなく推論能力を大幅に向上させているのが特徴で、実際のサービス提供において、GPT-5.4と同等のトークンあたりのレイテンシを実現しながら、はるかに高いレベルのインテリジェンスを発揮する。また、同じCodexタスクを完了するために必要なトークン数も大幅に少なく、効率性と能力の両面で優れている。

外部機関による10種のベンチマークの加重平均の指標であるArtificial Analysis Intelligence Indexでは、他社のフロンティアモデルであるClaude Opus 4.7、Gemini 3.1 Proを上回る結果をマーク。とくにコーディングにおいては、最先端（SOTA）のインテリジェンス能力をこれら競合モデルの半分のコストで実現しているという。

また、GPT-5.5はサイバーセキュリティなど、AIにとって困難な課題のいくつかを解決できる段階的に重要なな一歩として位置づけられ、これにもとづくGPT-5.5のシステムカードも公開されている。GPT-5.5では、包括的な展開前安全性評価および「Preparedness Framework」が適用され、その一環として高度なサイバーセキュリティや生物学分野に対する標的型のレッドチームによる演習が実施された。さらに、約200の早期アクセスパートナーからのフィードバックも収集されており、高度な機能の悪用を防ぐための強力なセーフガードが実装されている。

GPT-5.5はChatGPTおよびCodexのPlus、Pro、Business、Enterpriseユーザー向けに提供される。また、より高度で長時間の処理が必要なタスク向けのGPT-5.5 ProはChatGPTのPro、Business、Enterpriseユーザーが利用可能。さらに、GPT-5.5、GPT-5.5 Proの両モデルとも近日中にAPI経由で利用できるようになる予定。
